The Agua Boa Aruana Houseboat

 The recently refitted colonial style Houseboat, The
Aruana, is located far up river from our Agua Boa Amazon Lodge. As with the Lodge, the Houseboat is a fly fishing only operation and prides itself on its policy of catch &
release and only allowing single barbless hooks. The excellent location of the Houseboat offers an exclusive opportunity to catch really giant Peacock Bass that may
have never seen an artificial fly in regions of the Agua Boa river not accessible to those guests staying at the Lodge. During the course of a season numerous Peacock Bass are
landed between 14 and 20 lbs, with the current Agua Boa river record still standing at 23lbs, an awesome fight on a fly rod! Also Aruana seem more plentiful this far up river.
Accommodation is provided for up to six fly fisherman in
private, single, air conditioned rooms. All meals are freshly prepared daily on the Houseboat. The fully trained staff and fishing guides will provide you with the same high
level of service as if you were staying at the Lodge. There is a daily laundry service for guests. For your safety
the Houseboat is in permanent contact with the Lodge by radio, and all boats are also equipped with radios and
lifejackets. Guests fish 2 anglers per boat with a guide, and fish a different section of the upper Agua Boa river
and lagoons each day. Single person per boat is available at additional cost and is subject to availability.
This outstanding fly fishing location is also home to some of the most spectacular Amazonia wildlife.
Your trip begins in Manaus where you will take our Saturday a.m. charter flight to the Lodge. Breakfast will be
served at the Lodge before you continue your journey by boat to the Houseboat. The last night (Friday)of your
stay will be spent back at the Lodge to enable you to catch the early morning charter flight back to Manaus.
Transfer from Manaus international airport to and from your hotel, and the charter flight to the Lodge are
included in your package and are organised by our Lodge representative in Manaus.
